No, bearded dragons cannot eat carrot tops as they contain oxalates which prevent calcium from being absorbed into bearded dragons’ bloodstream.
Bearded dragons can eat carrots but not the tops. Carrot tops contain oxalate and calcium oxalate (also known as kidney stones) is found in many leafy plants such as parsley, spinach, and grass.
Oxalates prevent the absorption of calcium; therefore, too much intake of these plant sources can cause a calcium deficiency, which is dangerous for bearded dragons.
It’s better that you avoid feeding carrot tops to your pet beardies, otherwise feed them only once a month.
