Yes, bearded dragons can eat purple grapes. In fact, beardies enjoy and love eating purple grapes and they are very good for beardies.
They act like treats but because grapes are healthy, they’re not dangerous to eat. However, there is a certain way that you need to feed them the grapes so it’s safe for your dragon.
Grapes should not be given too often, however. Once or twice a month would be nice, depending on how many you give per time.
What if my beardie eats too many purple grapes?
If your dragon eats too many grapes at once, you need to give them a bath. Grapes make dragons very thirsty and if they drink too much water it can be dangerous (it can cause bladder issues).
The bath will help prevent that from happening.
You need to let the dragon sit in the water for about 10-15 minutes. When you let them out, they might be wet or even damp so don’t be alarmed. It’ll dry in no time.
Please do not force your beardie to stay under the water if it’s trying to get out. If it does try, just hold its head down so it doesn’t drown.
After bath time, you’ll need to feed your beardie something else. Not grapes as they can’t have those anymore as they give them diarrhea.
Instead, give them cat food or dog food kibble, and some vegetables. Make sure you don’t give them broccoli because that can cause gas problems.
