Let us dig it a little more. Dog foods contain grains and vegetables which are relatively safe for goats such as barley and ground wheatmeal.

But, dog food also contains substances obtained from animals such as meat which is lethal for goats’ health.

Though grains are safe for goats in only a balanced amount, if goats overdose on them, it can result in serious health consequences such as acidosis. Acidosis, in turn, will result in a severe decrease in rumen motility and rumen PH.
